The Starkville Police Department arrested two people in Longmeadow subdivision on a slew of charges Saturday, including possession of counterfeit money.
On Saturday, April 1, SPD arrested Jessica Clark McDaniel, 30, of Maben, and charged her with felony possession of a controlled substance, Schedule I or II, and felony possession of counterfeit currency. Along with the two felony charges, McDaniel was arrested on misdemeanor warrants for shoplifting, no or improper tag and driving with a suspended license.
Courts documents obtained through a public records request by the SDN said officers found McDaniel to be in possession of a felony amount of Methamphetamine at Chestnut Street near Meadowview Baptist Church. Details regarding the counterfeit currency charge were not mentioned in the affidavit for the April 1 arrest.
If convicted of possession of a controlled substance, McDaniel could face up to three years in prison and/or a $50,000 fine.
McDaniel is currently being held at the Clay County Jail with bond set at $5,000. The misdemeanor bonds will be set in Starkville Municipal Court.
