A candidate forum will be held Thursday at the Starkville Sportsplex for all races in the upcoming municipal elections.
The event is sponsored by the Delta Upsilon Sigma Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, incorporated and Pi Iota Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated.
Candidates will take the to the podium at 6:30 p.m., with the forum scheduled to last until 8:30 p.m.
Greg Stephens is the chairperson of the event and said all three mayoral candidates will be in attendance, in addition to most of the candidates running for the Starkville Board of Aldermen.
“It’s going to be an informal format,” he said. “ We will have some scripted questions that we come up with that may range in topic from safety to budget and economic development.”
WCBI’s Shawn Hannah will serve as the forum’s moderator.
Stephens said those attending include (Ward 1) Ben Carver, Jason Camp, and Christine Williams, (Ward 2) Sandra Sistrunk, Lisa Wynn and Jesse Carver (Ward 4) Pete Ledlow and Jason Walker, (Ward 5) Chase Neal, Patrick Miller and Kayla Gilmore, and (Ward 7) Robin Dawkins.
