As part of the FAA's $20.3 million awarded in grants to Mississippi, Starkville's George M. Bryan Airport will get $73,675.
The funding was secured in-part by Mississippi Senators Thad Cochran, R-Miss., and Roger Wicker, R-Miss. The Airport Improvement Program grant funding for Starkville's airport will go towards constructing an exterior fence along the airport's perimeter, according to a news release from Wicker and Cochran.
In total, 19 grants were awarded through the fund for airports across the state. The most significant awards went to the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport and the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, with $13.8 million and $4.6 million being awarded respectively.
