The Starkville Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that occurred Thursday night.

SPD released a statement Friday evening stating the incident occurred at Quality Fuels on highway 12 West Thursday night at 8:36 p.m. SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said the clerk working at Quality Fuels that night was physically assaulted, receiving minor injuries. Lovelady said no shots were fired during the incident.

“We are asking the community’s assistance to find this armed robbery suspect,” Lovelady said. “SPD considers him potentially armed and dangerous.”

SPD’s statement says the suspect is an approximately 6-foot tall black male with an average build.

“We’re still waiting on more surveillance footage, which we will release in the coming days,” Lovelady said.

Lovelady said the incident is under active investigation. If anyone in the community has helpful information, SPD can be reached at 662-323-4131. Lovelady said someone can also leave an anonymous tip through the SpD website at cityofstarkville.org under the police department. The Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers may offer a cash reward for any relevant tips. They can be reached at 1-800-530-7151.
