A Starkville man was arrested Saturday on one felony count of credit card fraud and one count of simple assault.
The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office arrested 24-year-old Trevor Scott Westmoreland on the credit card fraud warrant Saturday afternoon.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Captain of Operations Brett Watson said Westmoreland’s arrest comes after a weeks-long investigation by the OCSO. Watson said the simple assault charge was unrelated to the fraud charge.
Westmoreland currently remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $5,535.
Westmoreland has a criminal history in Oktibbeha County.
According to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court documents, he was indicted for two counts of auto burglary in 2013 and the Oktibbeha County Circuit Court issued him a suspended sentence of seven years in the Mississippi Department of Corrections with five years probation.
His suspended sentence was revoked in 2015 for a parole violation.
Westmoreland was also arrested by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office in August 2014 for the sale of a controlled substance, and he was indicted in July 2014 for one count of selling amphetamine.
