The Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Department arrested 35-year-old Jason Daniel Stevens, of Union, on six counts of burglary of a commercial building.
Stevens is being held at the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $30,000.
Stevens arrest comes following a month-long investigation into a series of break-ins at local mini-storage facilities in Oktibbeha County.
OCSD investigator Lt. Brett Watson said the burglaries took place at storage units located on Highway 25 and Highway 82. He said burglaries occurred over several days before the arrest was made.
Watson said there are easy ways to prevent burglaries like this one. He said having a good solid lock that can't be easily cut by bolt cutters is just one of many precautions one can take to protect their property.
“Check your unit as often as you can,” Watson said. “Utilize a storage facility with a good surveillance system.”
