Volunteer Starkville's Touch-A-Truck event will allow children to see 30 big trucks, and even climb aboard some.

The event is set for April 22, and will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Sportsplex on Lynn Lane. "Horn Free Hours" have been established before noon, for children who do not like loud noises.

For this event, a wrist-band is the ticket, and each wristband is $5 per child. Admission is free for adults. Tickets also include a hotdog, face painting access, and balloon animals at a first-come first-serve basis. Drinks and chips are also available, as well, for $1 each.

Types and examples of vehicles that will be present include emergency vehicles like firetrucks and patrol vehicles, as well as public service, utility, transportation, delivery, and construction vehicles. Children can experience the vehicles first-hand, learning each vehicle's purpose and what it's like to be on the inside of large trucks pass every day. (not sure what this meant)

Groups of 10 children or more can reserve tickets at $3 a piece, but reservations must be made by 5 p.m. Monday, April 17.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Volunteer Starkville. More information can be found at Volunteer Starkville's Facebook page.
