Holli’s Sweet Tooth recently closed its doors for the last time after almost a year and a half in downtown Starkville.
Store owner Holli Ratcliffe told the SDN the sweet shop had been unsuccessful looking for a buyer for the last few months.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to find the right buyer and had to make the decision to close our doors,” she said. “We lost our local manager this past year and it has been difficult to grow local roots without having a local presence.”
The store space was on the market until the end of February and officially closed its doors on Feb. 28.
Hoilli’s Sweet Tooth is currently offering a closing sale with all candy being sold for 35 percent off.
“The candy has been marked down and we are selling it by the pound or case,” Ratcliffe said. “Also for sale are our equipment items (candy bins, display tables, milkshake machines, freezers, etc). In addition we also have office supplies, holiday decorations, children's tables and chairs as well as restaurant supplies (cups, straws, etc).
The store’s liquidation hours are 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, until Friday, March 10.
“After this week, items remaining will be sold through our social media sites as well as Craigslist and local listings,” Ratcliffe said. “The building space is also for rent or for sale.”
