The Greater Starkville Development Partnership hosted its annual Main Street Awards event Thursday evening at Upstairs at Restaurant Tyler. The ceremony recognizes outstanding local achievements in the field of historic preservation and redevelopment. The event encourages excellence in design and planning related to preserving and growing Starkville historic core and heritage. Thursday's ceremony was the event's fifth year.
The ceremony touted recent successful partnership events including Night Market and Farm to Fork, while touching on the continued success and growth of the Starkville Community Market at Fire Station Park.
"This is the first year that we've partnered with the Historic Preservation Commission to serve as the jury," Gregory said.
