The West Nile case is in Lamar County, about 190 miles south of Starkville, health officials said. That brings Mississippi's total of West Nile cases to five in 2016.
The Zika cases were confirmed in a resident of Harrison County, about 250 miles south of Starkville; and two residents of Panola County, about 100 miles northwest of Starkville. They bring the total number of 2016 Zika cases to 14 in Mississippi.
