Starkville aldermen will vote on providing just over $13,500 of in-kind services for this year's Bulldog Bash event Tuesday.
A special event request was filed with the city July 26 by the Mississippi State University Student Association to host the event Oct. 7, ahead of MSU's home football game against Auburn University.
If approved by aldermen, the event will once again be held in the Cotton District on University Drive. Documents show the stage could be set up in front of Coconuts gas station, with barricades along entrance points of University Drive and connecting streets.
The student association previously announced it hold the event at MSU's amphitheater, citing logistical problems with ongoing development in the Cotton District for moving the event. After discussions with city staff and Greater Starkville Development Partnership officials, the group filed the special events request to keep the event in the Cotton District.
Public hearings
Aldermen will host public hearings regarding the $7 million general obligation bond issuance adopted in June, and a hearing over the proposed Stark Crossing Development TIF district Tuesday. The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors will host public hearings over the industrial park bond and Stark Crossing TIF district on Monday.
