The field of nine possible companies set to complete the assessment of OCH Regional Medical Center ahead of its possible lease, sale or retention narrowed to four Friday.
Consultant Fredrick Woodrell will recommend BKD (CPAs), Horne (CPAs), Stroudwater and Healthcare Management Partners to the board. Woodrell speculated the board could hold a special session meeting for either Wednesday or Thursday of next week. The board has already planned to hold a budget workshop Wednesday at 9 a.m.
The Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors hired Woodrell in May, before approving the assessment process. The assessment in the first step in possibly selling or leasing the county-owned facility.
"Two of them are CPA houses that do consulting as well, so they have expertise in that," Woodrell said. "Two of them are consulting houses with financial expertise, so each one is a little different in their approach, but all four are quite qualified."
