STARKVILLE, MS
The final draft of Starkville's comprehensive plan for its parks system came out Thursday. The document will now head to review by aldermen at the July 26 board meeting.
Aldermen could adopt the plan as soon as next Tuesday's meeting, and the document outlines tiered operational suggestions on proceeding further. Within the next 18 months, the city should reorganize SPRD's maintenance operations, implement a parks advisory board and adopt new programming contracts for instructors. The plan also recommends reviewing all programs, perform a detailed compensation study and adopt an inclement weather policy.
