The Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office is looking for two Starkville men—with long arrest records—in connection with alleged assaults and robberies in the Sunset Community subdivision near Longview on July 3.
Warrants were issued for Deangelo Dewayne Manning, 20, and Steven Bryant Thomas, 22, after deputies responded to an armed robbery and aggravated assault report on Arnold Drive, according to Oktibbeha County Sheriff's Office Lt. Brett Watson.
One victim was injured and required medical treatment at OCH Regional Medical Center, but Watson was unaware of the extent of the injuries. An email from a concerned resident said two victims were "struck with the guns several times," and one of the victims required emergency surgery. The claims could not be independently verified by the Starkville Daily News.
"I know they required medical attention that evening [of July 3]," Watson said. "But as far as specifies of their medical care, I do not know."
Both suspects have had previous run-ins with authorities for violent offenses, court officials said.
