Malik Aziz Mingo, 24, of Antioch, Tennessee, was arrested on one count of sexual battery after a month-long investigation by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office.
A Tennessee man was arrested Wednesday afternoon in Oktibbeha County on a sexual battery charge.
Malik Aziz Mingo, 24, of Antioch, Tennessee, was arrested on one count of sexual battery after a month-long investigation by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Captain of Operations Brett Watson said the investigation and arrest were based on a complaint filed with the sheriff’s office.
“The complaint was filed on Sept. 30,” Watson said. “The investigation has been going on since then.”
Watson said the female victim is an Oktibbeha County resident. The victim claims the crime took place in an Oktibbeha County apartment complex on Campus View Drive.
“This is an ongoing investigation,” Watson said. “We’re not looking for any other suspects at this time.”
Mingo had his initial appearance in the Oktibbeha County Justice Court Thursday morning.
His bond was set at $100,000 and he currently remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail.
