A female student was struck by a vehicle in a hit and run incident at Starkville High School Friday afternoon.

Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District Public Information Officer Nicole Thomas confirmed the incident, and said it occurred along Yellow Jacket Drive after school had let out. The student was transported to OCH Regional Medical Center by Pafford EMS.

OCH EMS Director Michael Hunt said the student suffered no life-threatening injuries from the incident.

Pafford Operations Manager Tony Fabella said the victim was ambulatory when EMS arrived on scene.

“She had some minor abrasions,” Fabella said.

Starkville Police Department public information officer Brandon Lovelady said the incident was under investigation, and said a silver Saturn SUV was involved.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact the SPD at (662)-323-4131, or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
