A Starkville man was arrested on charges of felony fleeing early Thursday morning after allegedly fleeing from local authorities.
Starkville Police Department took Richard Lynn Wilson, 28, into the custody of the Oktibbeha County Jail just before 7 a.m. Thursday morning.
Wilson was also charged with several traffic violations.
SPD officers attempted to stop Wilson at the intersection of Jackson Street and University Drive. However, Wilson failed to stop for the officers and continued east on University Drive.
Wilson was eventually stopped by a tree near Hunter Henry Boulevard.
Court documents obtained by the Starkville Daily News through a public record’s request state SPD Officer Christopher English claims Wilson failed to stop for SPD after being signaled to do so Friday.
Wilson appeared in Starkville Municipal Court for his initial appearance Thursday afternoon. Wilson’s bond was set to $11,337.
