History buffs looking to get involved with Mississippi State libraries will now have a new opportunity as volunteers are being sought for the school’s newest attraction.
The recently-opened Ulysses S. Grant President Library and the Frank and Virginia Williams Collection of Lincolniana is currently looking for volunteers and will host an interest meeting on Wednesday, April 18.
The meeting will take place at 2 p.m. at the Grant Library, located on the fourth floor of Mitchell Memorial Library.
John F. Marszalek, executive director of the Ulysses S. Grant Association and MSU Giles Distinguished Professor of History emeritus, said the meeting will be used to launch the library’s new volunteer program and provide interested volunteers with more information.
“Since MSU Libraries opened the expanded space for the Grant Presidential Library and the Williams Collection, visitors from all over the country have come to MSU to visit the new state-of-the-art museum exhibits on the 16th and 18th presidents of the United States,” Marszalek said.

The museum galleries are open to the public from 7:30 a.m. through 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
