A Starkville teen facing a murder charge in connection to a 2017 shooting will have his day in court in April.
Tomas Bradford, 16, was arraigned for first degree murder by Circuit Court Judge Lee Howard.
Howard denied bond for Bradford as the case moves forward.
Bradford's trial date is set for April 23.
Greenwood attorney Solomon Osborne, Sr. will represent Bradford.
Bradford was charged with murder in the shooting death of 20-year-old Deontay M. Rogers, of Starkville. The incident occurred at Brookville Garden Apartments on Everglade Avenue in August 2017.
At the time of the arrest, the Starkville Police Department said Bradford was out on bond for charges relating to another fatal shooting and armed robbery in early March 2016.
The previous incident resulted in the shooting death of 17-year-old Dacorian K. Coleman at Camelot Apartments. Bradford was arrested along with another Starkville teen for armed robbery in connection to the shooting.
According to state law, if a person is bond able by more than five years, the bond in the first case will be revoked.
