Starkville police made a second arrest stemming from an alleged sexual assault in the Cotton District on May 1.
Jerry Lee Talley Jr., 29, of McCool was arrested in Sturgis on Wednesday morning by the U.S. Marshals Service. Warrants were issued for rape, robbery, kidnapping and aggravated assault charges.
Talley faces life in prison for the rape and kidnapping charges, and could face 15 years for robbery and 20 years for aggravated assault, according to Municipal Prosecutor Caroline Moore.
Officers responded to multiple felony calls to Maxwell Street on Sunday. The time of the incident remains unclear and was not provided in previous SPD news releases.
Investigators claim Talley raped a woman, assaulted a man and bound him with shoelaces before placing him in a closet.
Court officials said Talley caused the male victim "serious bodily harm" by striking him with an unidentified blunt force object which led to "serious facial and torso lacerations."
An iPhone was also stolen during the incident, investigators said.
The arrest comes after officers took Terry Lamont Hill, 42, of West Point into custody on May 2 and charged him with aggravated assault, kidnapping, rape and robbery for the incident on Maxwell Street.
Hill is a co-defendant in the case, court officials said on Wednesday. Both remain in custody.
Talley's bond was set at $1.1 million by Municipal Court Judge Rodney Faver on Wednesday.
