As the upcoming special election vote on Nov. 7 approaches, the Oktibbeha County Board of Supervisors will close bids on OCH Regional Medical Center on Friday.
Once the bids are closed, information on the proposed bidders will be shared with the public so residents can make an informed decision.
District 3 Supervisor Bricklee Miller provided the SDN with the minimum requirements to submit healthcare system bids on OCH Regional Hospital in the request for proposals.
REQUIREMENTS
The continued operations must include additional healthcare services, cardiology and mental health services are two specifically requested.
The bidder must prove physician recruitment and retention; must show community service; must provide acquiring entity and parent guarantee.
The purchase price of the hospital will pay off all debt on the hospital books which include revenue bonds and GO bonds. This will also include additional money for the future of Oktibbeha County and includes capital investments for five to 10 years and a minimum commitment over 10 years.
The bidder must prove employee retention, compensation levels equal or better than current benefit plans and a transition of retirement and COBRA benefits.
The medical staff must remain current and the bidder must have contractual obligation.
