A McDonald's employee was arrested at the restaurant on Monday, charged with robbing his workplace three days earlier.
Starkville police SWAT and the U.S. Marshals Task Force arrested Jawan Hooper, 24, soon after he arrived for work at McDonald's, 817 Highway 12 West, on Monday, according to a news release from Caryl Pritchard of the Starkville Police Department.
He is charged with an armed robbery of the restaurant which took place shortly after 3 a.m. Friday, April 22. At the time of the incident, the robber was reported to be dressed all in red, with a red bandana over his face, who fled when officers arrived.
“During the course of the investigation it was established that an off-duty employee, Hooper, was responsible,” Pritchard said in the news release.
Hooper was taken to Oktibbeha County Jail, with bond set at $25,000. He is expected in Municipal Court on Wednesday afternoon.
