The search for a new chief executive officer for the Greater Starkville Development Partnership could soon get some outside assistance, with the GSDP actively seeking an outside firm to help with the search.
GSDP Board Chair Michelle Amos confirmed to the SDN that a search firm will be used, but one has not been selected at this time.
Amos declined to comment further on the search and status of the three previous finalists for the open position, none of which were selected.
“The search for the GSDP CEO/President is ongoing,” Amos said in an email statement. “The GSDP Board is committed to recruiting the best possible candidate for this leadership role and is actively moving ahead with the process. We look forward to naming a successor in the near future.”
The GSDP has been searching for a replacement since the October 2016 resignation of CEO Jennifer Gregory. After Gregory stepped down, the GSDP named Director of Membership Heath Barret to the position of interim CEO.
As of Tuesday, Barret could not comment on the search or his potential candidacy for the open position.
The GSDP serves as the Starkville community’s development organization and is responsible for such attractions as Starkville Restaurant Week and Touch A Truck.
