Oktibbeha County managed to dodge the worst of a series of storms that swept through the southeast on Sunday and into Monday morning.
The most heavily-impacted area in the county was a flood-prone gravel stretch of Curtis Chapel Road connecting to Hickory Grove Road. Standing water completely covered the road in places, rendering it impassable on Monday.
Residents are advised to use caution, but Oktibbeha County EMA director Shank Phelps said no other reports of large-scale isolated flooding events were received.
Phelps also said there were no reports of damage or injuries following the last round of storms early Monday morning.
For much of Sunday evening into early Monday morning, the entire Golden Triangle was under a tornado watch as storms caused the most widespread damage further south near the Louisiana state line.
The rest of the Golden Triangle also weathered the storms, with no formal storm reports filed with the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center on Sunday or Monday.
