As of Thursday night, Starkvillians have yet another option for tacos, quesadillas and ice-cold cervezas.
No Way Jose Tex-Mex Restaurant opened its doors at 5 p.m., following a ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier in the afternoon. The restaurant is located at 125 Hwy. 12 West across from Vowell’s, and is the sixth restaurant the Houston, Mississippi based company has opened, joining locations in Houston, West Point, Grenada, Greenwood and Cleveland.
“We are honored to be here, and we are hoping to provide a lot of jobs and good quality food to all of Starkville and around Starkville,” said Julio Martinez, one of the restaurant’s co-owners, along with his brother, Pablo Martinez and sister-in-law, Holly Martinez. “I think on behalf of my family, I can say that I’m extremely proud.”
Holly Martinez praised the company’s dealings with the city of Starkville and the Greater Starkville Development Partnership.
“It’s been a great experience working in Starkville, probably our easiest thus far,” Holly Martinez said.
The restaurant serves Tex-Mex classics, as well as southern and bar food dishes including hot wings, ribs and fried pickles.
“We have a wide variety of authentic Mexican and American foods, a large drink menu and we’re a family restaurant,” Holly Martinez said. “We cater to our families.”
The Starkville location will employ between 25 and 30 people, and can be contacted at 662-268-8044.
