student voter registration campaign will kick off at 9 a.m., Tuesday, September 27 at the Drill Field on campus, in a bid to give Mississippi State University students the chance to vote in the upcoming November 8 general election.
The initiative is led by the university's student association. The group asks interested students need to bring one form of government identification to the registration event. The drive will also run at the same time on September 28. Both drives will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Students that miss out on the initiative can also register with the Oktibbeha County Clerk's office by October 8 in time for the election.
To register, new residents should visit the office at 108 W. Main St., and provide elections staff with proof of a physical county address, and/or a mailing address if it is different than the physical address. If you have recently moved, elections staff urge residents to re-register and notify the clerk's office to update new addresses.
All voter registration cards will be mailed to the filed address, election officials said. Residents must vote in the precinct listed on the card. A precinct map is available at oktibbehacountyms.org/?q=node/287.
