Almost a year after being arrested in her attempt to join the Islamic State in Syria, Jaelyn Young was sentenced to 12 years in federal prison Thursday.
She was also ordered to serve a 15-year supervised release by U.S. District Court Judge Sharion Aycock in Oxford after her time served.
