Police are searching for a man who robbed the First Bank of Osyka on Thursday morning.
The suspect is a heavyset white man wearing black coveralls. On entering the bank he showed a handgun and demanded money, then left in a bank employee's car: a white 2013 Nissan Maxima, Louisiana tag SYF 722, according to Warren Strain, public affairs director for the Mississippi Department of Public Safety.
Osyka is on the Louisiana border, about 220 miles southwest of Starkville. The suspect headed toward Interstate 55, and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to a news release sent out just before 12:30 p.m. Thursday.
