Two Starkville juveniles will have their separate cases heard in youth court.

Starkville Police Department Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said officers made contact with one juvenile in connection with a hit and run last week that injured a Starkville High student.

The juvenile female student who was the victim of the hit and run was treated for her injuries and released from University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for evaluation.

Police identified the juvenile suspect later that evening and eventually made contact, saying on Monday that the case would now be forwarded to youth court.

In an unrelated case, another juvenile was charged with one count of auto burglary on Monday for an incident that occurred on Sept. 19 on Peoples Street.

The suspect was processed and released, and the case will also be handled in youth court.
