STARKVILLE, MS
An Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s deputy has resigned after being arrested and charged following a DUI traffic stop in the Delta over the weekend.
Chief Deputy Chadd Garnett confirmed to the Starkville Daily News that Deputy David “Drew” Wofford tendered his resignation to Sheriff Steve Gladney on Monday morning and informed the department of the incident.
Garnett said Wofford was arrested on the DUI charge in Yazoo City.
“He handled it right on that end with telling us, because he can't drive a patrol car (because of the charge),” Garnett said. “But he made a bad decision.”
Garnett said Wofford had been employed with the county for less than a year.
