A Starkville man with a history of domestic violence is now facing stalking charges after investigators say he harassed his wife.
Christopher Shannon Blackwell was booked on a aggravated stalking charge on the morning of July 10 and was charged with misdemeanor stalking the same day. Blackwell has a history of violence with the victim, according to investigators.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Lt. Brett Watson said Blackwell was previously facing charges of aggravated domestic violence and kidnapping from Aprill 11.
In April, Blackwell was arrested for aggravated assault after being accused of striking his wife with a baseball bat. Watson said the dispute was domestic in nature.
Blackwell was also accused of kidnapping after he confined his wife by threatening her with a gun and dictating her phone use.
Watson said while Blackwell was out on bond, the same victim from the April incident reported to authorities that Blackwell began contacting her and visiting her home, leading to his charge on July 10.
Blackwell’s misdemeanor stalking charge is a violation of bond set from the April incident. His bond was set at $1,000.
