An Oktibbeha County man is in jail facing multiple felony charges after a drunk driving wreck injured two people at a local apartment complex.
Sheriff’s deputies arrested 23-year-old David Gordon Hawkins on St. Andrews Lane shortly after they believe he wrecked his Nissan Versa into a Jeep with two occupants at Campus Trails apartments around 7 p.m. on July 3.
Lt. Brett Watson told the Starkville Daily News Hawkins is accused of leaving the scene of the crash, before deputies made contact with him near his residence, which is listed on St. Andrews Lane.
The two occupants did require treatment for their injuries, but were expected to recover.
Watson said investigators believe Hawkins was alone in the vehicle.
He has been charged with two felony counts of aggravated DUI, and one felony count of leaving the scene of an accident. He was also charged with speeding, a misdemeanor.
Hawkins was still in the Oktibbeha County Jail Monday afternoon, with his total bond set at $75,100.
He has already had an initial appearance in Oktibbeha County Justice Court.
