Four people have been arrested in connection with a robbery last week at a Starkville hotel.
The Starkville Police Department said in a press release that officers arrested 31-year-old Learthur Neal and 28-year-old Steve Bishop on armed robbery warrants Tuesday morning.
The arrests resulted from an alleged robbery that occurred at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12, where the victim was lured to the hotel to meet a female, before being robbed by two male suspects.
According to court documents provided to the Starkville Daily News through a public records request, the suspects held the victim at gunpoint and took $500 cash, a cellphone and the victim's car keys.
Bond for both men arrested on robbery charges was set at $50,000 each.
SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady said the arrests were made at an apartment on Garrard Road Tuesday morning.
If found guilty of armed robbery, the suspects could face life in prison.
Additionally, 25-year-old Jonnice Harris was arrested on a warrant for conspiracy to commit a crime for her involvement in the robbery. And on Monday, 19-year-old Katelyn Scott was arrested on a warrant for the same charge.
Bond was set for both women at $10,000 each for conspiracy to commit a crime.
An individual on scene at the time of arrest, Michael Daniels, was arrested for an unrelated misdemeanor warrant.
Neal also had unrelated misdemeanor warrants and convictions in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court dating back to 2006. He has prior convictions for selling marijuana and domestic violence, the latter of which resulted in a sentence of five years post release supervision.
According to Oktibbeha County Circuit Court documents, Circuit Judge Jim Kitchens terminated Neal’s post release supervision in February 2018.
Bishop also has a criminal history dating back for roughly a decade, with Oktibbeha County Circuit Court records showing he pleaded guilty on burglary charges in November 2008. He was sentenced to three years in prison followed by five years of post release supervision, which was completed in 2018.
Harris was previously indicted by an Oktibbeha County Grand Jury for embezzlement after allegedly taking more than $500 worth of merchandise from Walmart on Highway 12, where she was employed in 2013. The case was ultimately remanded back to Starkville Municipal Court, where the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.
