A new eatery, Chicken Salad Chick, will soon open its doors in Starkville on Highway 12.

Chicken Salad Chick will be located in ProGraphics's former location next to Starbucks.

ProGraphics manager Derek Willis said the new location for ProGraphics is located at 124 Highway 12 in the same shopping center as Newk's.

"The new location opened May 29," Willis said. "We're still getting settled in." ProGraphics will have a ribbon cutting for its new location on June 29.

Willis said the printing, design and promotional product company moved location for various reasons.

"The new location has more visibility and the median on Highway 12 made it harder for traffic," Willis said.

Willis said the new location now has a stoplight and is more accessible.

Chicken Salad Chick will be co-owned by Eric Halberg and Cameron Parker.

Halberg said the restaurant will be open in mid-July or early August.

Chicken Salad Chick features a wide variety of traditional, fruity and nutty, spicy and savory chicken salads that are all made in-house. The restaurant also features soups, salads and side dishes such as broccoli salad and pimiento and cheese.

Halberg said Chicken Salad Chick will create 60 to 80 full-time and part-time jobs.

Chicken Salad Chick has locations across the Southeast in Mississippi, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Arkansas, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida and Georgia.

"We're very excited to bring Chicken Salad Chick to Starkville," Halberg said.
