The Mississippi State University baseball team was awarded its first ever national seed in the upcoming NCAA regional tournament, and officials hope the unique weekend will drive out-of-town baseball fans to Starkville's restaurants, shops and hotels.
The Bulldogs will face-off against the Southeast Missouri Redhawks at 1:30 p.m. today at Dudy Noble Field. MSU will be joined by California State University-Fullerton, Louisiana Tech and Southeast Missouri for the regional as part of the weekend's four-team series. Games span Friday through Sunday. Monday games will be played if necessary.
