In its annual list of the Best High Schools, U.S. News and World Report awarded bronze medals to two schools in northeast Mississippi.

Eupora High School in the Webster County School District and the Nanih Waiya Attendance Center in the Louisville Municipal School District, both received bronze medals

In total, the publication awarded three Mississippi schools with silver medals, while 54 earned bronze.

The rankings factored in each school’s graduation rates, along with a College Readiness Index, based on the percentages of each school’s students who took and passed AP and IB exams.

Not all schools or school districts in Mississippi were listed in the rankings, including the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District and the West Point Consolidated School District.

Ocean Springs High School in Ocean Springs finished as the top-ranked school in Mississippi and finished No. 1,746 in national rankings.

Oceans Springs finished with a graduation rate of 87 percent, a 33.3 College Readiness Index score and a silver medal awarded.
