Warner Family Dentistry is expanding its practice to allow for more patients to be seen.
“This was Dr. Turner's office,” Dr. Lindsey Warner said. “He was practicing here for around 43 years, and when I took over from him, I took over the office and land. So everything except the waiting room and reception is going back there. All of our treatment area is going to be moved, and all of the existing building will be renovated.”
The expansion will allow the practice to almost double in space and will take place behind the existing office.
Warner said the final review of the plans with the city took place Thursday morning, and construction should begin this month.
"The back part is estimated to take three to four months," she said. "I hired an amazing construction team out of Vicksburg, who has actually renovated two other dental offices here in Starkville."
Warner said the current office will be renovated and will become a staff lounge, kitchen and office space, and the addition will allow for about 10 more patients to be seen by hygienists per week, and there will be more space for other dental procedures and treatments.
"The goal is to get more patients in and out of the door," Warner said.
Warner said once the new portion of the office is finished, the practice will close for about two weeks for renovations to the front of the building and tying the project together.
Once the renovation and construction is complete, Warner said the practice may hire another receptionist and/or assistant.
