The search for the man who robbed three convenience stores on Thursday evening recently concluded with the suspect, Roderiques Leshun Lockett, turning himself in to the Starkville Police Department following three warrants issued for his arrest on the afternoon of May 27. Bond on each of the warrants is $20,000, totaling $60,000. Lockett was transported to the Oktibbeha County Jail and has a scheduled appearance in Municipal Court at 2 p.m. on June 1.
The first incident took place at 6:48 p.m. on May 27, followed by the others each 20 to 30 minutes later, according to a news release from Cpl. Brandon Lovelady, public information officer for the Starkville Police Department.
The incidents occurred at the B-Quick gas station at North Montgomery Street and Womack Street, the Chevron gas station at Spring Street and Russell Street, and the Dollar General on North Jackson Street near Garrard Road,” Lovelady said. No weapons were used, and video of one incident shows the suspect snatching cash from the register drawer after pretending to buy something.
