Starkville police are searching for a man who robbed three convenience stores in quick succession Thursday evening.
The first incident took place at 6:48 p.m., followed by the others each 20 to 30 minutes later, according to a news release from Cpl. Brandon Lovelady, public information officer for the Starkville Police Department.
“The incidents occurred at the B-Quick gas station at North Montgomery Street and Womack Street, the Chevron gas station at Spring Street and Russell Street, and the Dollar General on North Jackson Street near Garrard Road,” Lovelady said. No weapons were used; video of one incident shows the suspect snatching cash from the register drawer after pretending to buy something.
The suspect is a black male, 15 to 19 years old; 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet eight inches tall, and weighing 130 to 145 pounds, with “ a medium unkempt afro faded on the sides,” according to the news release. He was wearing a white tank top T-shirt, dark baggy jeans showing grey underwear, and dark shoes. He was believed to be traveling by car, but no vehicle has been described.
Anyone with any information on the robberies is asked to contact Starkville police at 662-323-4131 or Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 1-800-530-7151.
