The Starkville Police Department charged a second suspect on Friday in connection to a shooting at the Starkville Sportsplex in January that left two people injured.
SPD says 23-year-old Ladarius Patterson, of Prairie, has been charged with two counts of accessory after the fact, following the late-night shooting outside of a private event being held at the Sportsplex on Jan. 28.
Bond has been set at $15,000 per charge.
Felony accessory after the fact carries a maximum sentence of 20 years under Mississippi Code 97-1-5.
In February, 19-year-old Jalon Javon Gates, of Houston, Mississippi was charged with two counts of aggravated assault following the shooting.
Bond for the aggravated assault charges was set at $100,000 for Gates.
The two victims in the shooting were treated for non-lethal injuries.
The city, following the shooting, instituted a new policy for late-night events for the Starkville Parks and Recreation Department.
