West Point native Terry Hill, 44, who was convicted of sexual battery, robbery and kidnapping stemming from an incident in the Cotton District in 2016, received an additional sentence relating to an escape from the Oktibbeha County Jail in August.
Mississippi 16th Circuit Assistant District Attorney Trina Davidson-Brooks said Hill pleaded guilty on Thursday on the escape charge and will serve an additional five years to his current 105 year sentence.
Oktibbeha County Sheriff Steve Gladney said Hill escaped the jail by entering through an exhaust fan in the ceiling of the shower. He then made it to a crawl space in the ceiling and crawled approximately 20 yards to the attic of the facility, before coming down the stairs and exiting the building.
Law enforcement officers found Hill in Chickasaw County the following morning.
Hill was sentenced to a total of 105 years in prison after being found guilty in Oktibbeha County Circuit Court on all counts with his involvement in a 2016 kidnapping, robbery and sexual battery in Starkville’s Cotton District.
The sentence consists of 15 years for robbery, 30 years for each count of kidnapping and 30 years for sexual battery. The sentences will run consecutively.
Hill and another suspect, Jerry Talley, Jr. of McCool, were both arrested in May 2016 after witnesses claim they entered a college student’s home where they robbed one student and raped a woman before forcing them both into the bathroom of the home.
Talley's court date was scheduled to proceed in January, but has been moved to the April term.
