Mississippi State University officials are advising students to be aware of a water main break outside two residence halls.
MSU Chief Communications Officer Sid Salter said Deavenport Hall and Dogwood Hall have no damage inside, but the water has been turned off until the outside repair is complete.
The break was reported on Thursday afternoon and caused the university to close both buildings while repairs are conducted.
Salter said the university is encouraging students who live in these two halls not to return to campus until they receive notification from the university.
“They will be notified by email and may follow social media for updates,” Salter said.
Student residents of Deavenport and Dogwood who already have returned are being housed at alternate locations.
More updates will be provided by the university on Friday.
