A Starkville man is in jail after being accused of firing a gun at a local apartment complex.
Officers with the Starkville Police Department arrested 27-year-old Dwauntario Reed after responding to a call at Brooksville Garden apartments on Everglade Avenue around 5:45 p.m. on Friday.
The call involved an individual discharging a firearm.
Officers made contact with Reed once on the scene, but the suspect tried to flee the area before being arrested.
He was charged with possession of a weapon by a felon, simple assault, public drunk, disorderly conduct and discharging a firearm in the city.
Reed is currently being held in the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $7,457.75.
He is scheduled to appear in Starkville Municipal Court on Monday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m.
