Oktibbeha Co. 4-H holds annual awards.
The Oktibbeha County 4-H Program recently held their annual 4-H Awards ceremony on Tuesday at the Oktibbeha County Extension Office.
Awards were given to 4-H member who have excelled in the program over the past year.
Oktibbeha 4-H is a United Way agency.
HONOREES
▪ The Partner in 4-H Award was presented to Richard Hester for his support to the county 4-H program.
• The Outstanding 4-H Volunteer Award was presented to Robert Rice for his leadership to the county 4-H program.
• The All Around 4-H Volunteer Award was presented to Johnny Thompson for his leadership to the county 4-H program.
• The Rookie 4-H Volunteer Award was presented to Sharita Potts for her enthusiasm in taking on leadership to the county 4-H program.
• The Outstanding Club was awarded to Controllers Generation II. Other Clubs recognized for their Outstanding Achievement included CYW and Clover Dawgs. New Club Recognition was Buzzing Clovers.
▪ The Joe and Leota Cardwell – I Dare You Leadership Award was presented to senior 4-H member Tiffany Kelly.
• The Magnolia Jones Spirit of 4-H Award is given to 4-H members who exemplify outstanding enthusiasm and dedication to 4-H Club Work. This award is sponsored by and given in memory of Magnolia Jones by the Jones family. The 2017 Spirit of 4-H Awards are: Clover – Conner Stokes; Junior I – Jariyah Lowe and Junior II – Jade Roberts.
• The Rookie of the Year Award is given to 4-H members who have been involved in 4-H for 2 years or less and have shown enthusiasm, a desire to learn and an interest in helping others. The 2017 winners are: Pre 4-Her (tie), Marlie Headley and Shazariya Potts; Clover – Desharia Logan; Junior I – Shariya Potts and Junior II – Kamerun Gibson.
• The Achievement Awards are awarded to members who have excelled in contests and activities beyond the county level. The 2017 Achievement Awards are: Pre – Makayla Carter; Cloverleaf – Conner Stokes; Junior I – Jariyah Lowe; Junior II – Robert Rice, Jr.; Senior – Reocca Rice.
• The Distinguished Citizen Award is given to the members in each age group who have exhibited outstanding service to the community. The 2017 Distinguished Citizen winners are: Pre 4-H – Zalen Watkins; Cloverleaf – Natalie Headley; Junior I – Jameria Carter; Junior II – Robert Rice, Jr.; and Senior – Tiffany Kelly.
• The 2017 Standard of Excellence Winners are: Pre 4-H : Jorian Lowe, Makayla Carter, Wyatt Gant, Jaden Claire Everett, Marlie Headley, Zalen Watkins, Jordan Everett, Shazariya Potts, Kamarium Potts. Cloverleaf: Tykeria Burfield, Desharia Logan, Rebekah Schilling, Conner Stokes, Natalie Headley. Junior I: Okirah Greenwood, Luke Schilling, Jariyah Lowe, Jameria Carter, Omirah Calmes. Junior II: Kylie Headley, Cassin Gant, Robert Rice, Jr. Senior: Tiffany Kelly, Akeah Graham, Aleah Graham, Alana Graham, Reocca Rice, Jamal Lucious, and JaShun Harkins.
• The Outstanding 4-H Member Award is given to the 4-H member in each age group who have shown outstanding achievements and involvement in project work, contests, leadership, and citizenship. The 2009 Outstanding 4-H’ers are: Pre – Jaden Claire Everett; Cloverleaf – Conner Stokes; Junior I – Jameria Carter; Junior II – Kylie Headley; and Senior – Akeah Graham.
