The Starkville Police Department recently moved into its new home on Lampkin Street in downtown Starkville, but the new state-of-the-art facility will offer more than a home for city law enforcement.
The new community room at the SPD headquarters is now available for reservations, with a new booking feature built in to the city of Starkville website.
Amenities for the community room include chairs, internet access, a kitchenette and a 65-inch television with HDMI access to connect a computer.
SPD Public Information Officer Brandon Lovelady told the Starkville Daily News the department asks reservations be made at least 48 hours in advance.
“We are excited to be able to offer a safe multipurpose area for the community to use, whether it's meetings, seminars, or just a safe place to meet someone when you buy something on Craigslist,” Lovelady said.
The room - which is ADA accessible - seats approximately 45 people and a schedule for the room is also available online.
