Minors at several local establishments in Starkville were hit with citations on Thursday after alcohol and beer compliance checks by state officials.

Seven individuals were served violations at Casa Bravo for minor in possession, while four were cited at Drifters and Gringo’s reportedly had one citation. The incidents occurred on Thursday.

Two violations for individuals using fake IDs were also served at Drifters.

The violations were served by investigators with the Mississippi Attorney General’s Alcohol & Tobacco Enforcement Division, according to Mississippi Attorney General Jim Hood.

Nine bars and businesses and 23 individuals were issued 34 total violations or citations in Oxford, Starkville, and Cleveland over the past week.

The following businesses in Starkville did not receive a citation when checked for compliance on selling alcohol to minors on Oct. 19: Klaasroom, StaggerIn, Buffalo Wild Wings, La Terraza.

Hood’s office said businesses convicted of selling alcohol or beer to minors face up to six months in prison and/or up to $500 in fines, as well as having their liquor license and/or beer permit revoked.
Individuals cited and convicted for minor in possession and fake ID face a fine between $200 and $500 and must complete up to 30 days of community service.
