A Starkville High School teacher is no longer employed by the Starkville-Oktibbeha Consolidated School District after being arrested on fraud charges by the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators said Jennifer Baggett was arrested Oct. 3 and charged with six counts of fraudulently obtaining goods by false information.

She has been arraigned and remains in the Oktibbeha County Jail with bond set at $60,000 bond. Her next court date is yet to be determined.

SOCSD public information officer Nicole Thomas confirmed Baggett was no longer employed with the district as of Wednesday.

However, due to the district’s policy of not commenting on personnel matters, Thomas could not verify whether Baggett resigned or had been fired.

Thomas also said Baggett’s arrest and charges would have no affect on her husband SOCSD Assistant Superintendent for Personnel and Secondary Curriculum David Baggett’s employment.
